Ultima is our new flagship line of cables. It surpasses anything else we've done to date, giving the most lifelike, rich, vivid, and organic sound possible. Ultima is built with the following unique aspects, several of which were newly created just for the Ultima project:
UltraPlate hybrid solid-core wiring - the purest copper with a dense layer of silver
Special cryogenic treatment
Advanced hybrid dielectric
Ultima geometry
Multi-layer tubing with integrated shielding sandwiched between isolation layers
PEEK/PPS braided sleeve for ultimate lightweight protection
Custom copper power and IEC connectors with silver/rhodium plating
Ultima Power uses 12AWG wiring and is capable of handling a 15A draw without issue. That said, we find it best when used with medium to lower power devices - all source components make exceptional matches, as do preamplifiers, most integrated amps, and power amps rated up to around 500 watts or so. For more demanding power amplifiers as well as feeding power strips/conditioners, we find that our classic Praesto power cable closes the gap to the point where it makes sense to spend less money and go that route. We will revisit the design at some point with another Ultima Power cable specifically for high-current equipment.
